Floating Palace is a suspended installation, constructed from a diverse range of organic and artificial materials.
The object detaches from the ground and occupies an elevated position in space. This spatial displacement creates distance and points to social hierarchies, wealth, and forms of self-aggrandizement. The palace appears monumental, yet it is deprived of its static security. Situated between staging and instability, the work addresses societal states of being "out of touch," in which measure, responsibility, and closeness to one's surroundings are lost.
The floating construction reveals how fragile structures are permanently staged as stable.
The project was made by Valentin Steiner and me, and was exhibited at Lucid Dreams Festival 2026.
